This weekend is the weekend of the clock. The push forward that creates evening glow and delicate dusk. The biannual manipulation that seals and measures our fate into hours of daylight. The ability to drive home in the sun, coupled with the precious biology of life growing and reaching out again. This time of year I am extremely responsive to signs of life, casually desperate to hear a different song. I am cool and calculating, but ready for a change in pace.
It’s a mellow story that we aim to write. One that we can intently reference or experience later – a reminder that life isn’t manufactured. It’s created and nurtured. The roots are thick through every season. There’s love to be found around every corner. There’s never a shuffle – only appreciation for opportunity. Winter is in every right as beautiful as spring, and more importantly, it’s necessary. The seasons change here, sometimes violently, sometimes quietly – but they always unfurl into a successive chapter. Periods of new and periods of renew. Periods of decay, and periods of silence. Periods that open doors and finish each other’s sentences. Periods that close doors and lay heads to rest. A story that embraces the whole and the sum. In progress and in good taste.
